Watching KY beat Florida State in the Music City Bowl –
Well…today marks the end of another dissappointing season for the Wildcats. Kansas downed the Cats by 12 in the 2nd Round of the NCAA tournament this afternoon. I really didn’t expect them to beat Kansas as the Jayhawks were ranked in the top 5 or so about all season and KY wasn’t even in the top 25 for most of the season. A 22-12 record might be acceptable to a lot of institutions, but anything short of a Final Four for the Cats each year is a dissappointment. Oh well…I sure hope things get better soon. Kentucky has too proud a history to become just another mediocre basketball program.
Those of you that know me very well know that I am a RABID fan of the University of Kentucky men’s basketball program (to the point that I have their logo tatooed to my left arm). I was born in KY and lived there until I was 15. Some of my fondest memories growing up were of watching the Cats play on television with my Dad while listening to Caywood Ledford (the voice of Kentucky Basketball from 1953 though 1992) call the game over the radio.
