Well, sort of. After pouring over Google searches for a couple of weeks trying to find a solution, I decided to bite the bullet this weekend and reinstall the operating system on my Macbook Pro. I am convinced that running the Monolingual tool right after I got the laptop took something off that Dreamweaver, Fireworks and Flash Professional all needed to start up. After reinstalling OS X and then Studio 8, all the applications fire right up without any problems. Guess I’ll have to be more careful in the future about blindly following some of these online guides. You’d think I’d know better by now huh!
It’s been (almost) 2 weeks since I first laid my hands on the Macbook Pro. I have to say that I continue to be impressed with the laptop. As much as I love the machine, there have been some roadblocks in getting things set up and working correctly.
Well, I’ve now had the Macbook Pro for about 36 hours or so (part of that obviously was spent sleeping and not attached to it, although I seriously thought about skipping sleep last night).
Ok ok, so it’s not really a toy as, within about 48 hours, it will be my sole computer for development. But right now it sure feels like a toy.
Thanks to a late afternoon winter storm yesterday, I am spending the weekend in Chantilly, VA. I was due to go home yesterday (and really looking forward to it too!) but the storm cancelled most of the flights out of Dulles and I was told they couldn’t get me back to Nashville until Sunday. Since I had to be back up here Monday, it didn’t make sense to do that, so I’m just not going home this weekend.
